His Majesty Sultan Qaboos received the credentials of the ambassadors of friendly countries in separate audiences at Hisn Ash’shumookh in the Wilayat of Manah yesterday. His Majesty received the credentials of the non-resident ambassador of Portugal; Jan Thesleff, non-resident ambassador of Sweden; Robert Kevin Magi, non-resident ambassador of Australia; Jose Arturo Trejo Nava, non-resident ambassador of Mexico; Michel Lastchenko, non-resident ambassador of Belgium; Laszlo Fodor, non-resident ambassador of Hungary; and Luigi Narpani, non-resident ambassador of the EU. During side meetings with His Majesty the Sultan, the ambassadors conveyed the greetings of the leaders of their respective countries and the President of the EU Commission to His Majesty the Sultan, their best wishes of good health, happiness and a long life to His Majesty the Sultan and their wishes of progress and prosperity for the Omani people. The ambassadors said they were greatly honoured to present their credentials to His Majesty. They stressed they will do their best to enhance their countries’ relations with the Sultanate in various spheres that serve the common interests of all. His Majesty the Sultan welcomed the ambassadors and thanked the leaders of their countries and the President of the EU Commission for their greetings and best wishes. He reassured the ambassadors that they will receive all support from him and the Omani government and people. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court, the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, the Head of the Royal Protocols, the Commander of the Royal Guard of Oman and the Military Aides of His Majesty the Sultan.
