On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, will leave for Kuwait today to take part in the 30th GCC summit scheduled to begin today in Kuwait City. The Sultanate, under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan, has always been keen on ensuring the success of the co-operation march of Arab Gulf states and efforts aimed at stabilising the region. His Majesty and other leaders of GCC states attach importance to the issues that serve the joint interests of the member states. They accord importance to exchanging views on regional and global developments. HH Sayyid Fahd is accompanied by an official delegation comprising Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Hinai, Justice Minister, Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, National Economy Minister and Supervisor of the Finance Ministry, Dr Ali bin Mohammed bin Moosa, Health Minister, and Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, Commerce and Industry Minister. The GCC Ministerial Council held its 113th session in Kuwait City yesterday in preparation for the GCC summit, with Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, Minister of National Economy and Deputy Chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council, taking part. The meeting discussed topics of the summit’s agenda, which includes the electricity linkage project, whose pact is due to be signed by GCC leaders today, and a host of economic topics. The Ministerial Council earlier held a joint meeting for GCC foreign ministers. It was attended by Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister of Responsible for Foreign Affairs.
