President Stjepan Mesic of Croatia will today begin an official visit to the Sultanate during which he will hold talks with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. The Diwan of the Royal Court issued a statement to this effect, saying that the visit “crowns ties of friendship between the Sultanate and Croatia and comes in response to an invitation by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos to President Stjepan Mesic. It reflects the keenness of the two countries’ leadership to serve their friendly peoples and discuss current developments in the international arena”.

President Mesic will be accompanied by his daughter Dunia Mesic; the Minister of Economy, Labour and Private Sector; the Head of Personnel Affairs at the Office of the President; the President’s Adviser for Foreign Affairs; the Sultanate’s Ambassador to Croatia; the Secretary-General of Political Affairs at the Foreign Ministry; Special Adviser to the President for Sciences and Education; the Sultanate’s Honorary Consul to Croatia; the Director of the Export and Investment Support Agency and the Deputy Director of the Croatian Chamber of Economy for International Affairs
