His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has received a cable of thanks from Dr Bashar al Assad of Syria in reply to His Majesty the Sultan’s cable of condolences on the death of the president’s brother, Majd al Assad. Dr Bashar expressed his appreciation for His Majesty the Sultan’s sincere sentiments and prayed to the Almighty to protect His Majesty and the Omani people against all harm.
