Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), hosted a luncheon at Al Rawdha Palace in Al Ain city yesterday in honour of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos during his current private visit to Shaikh Khalifa. The luncheon was attended by the delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and UAE shaikhs and dignitaries. Earlier, His Majesty the Sultan and Shaikh Khalifa held a brotherly meeting at Al Rawdha Palace. Their cordial conversations touched on ways of enhancing bilateral relations and various aspects of co-operation. They also reviewed issues of common concern.

The meeting was attended from the Omani side by the delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan. It was attended from the UAE side by Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice-President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed al Nahyan, Representative of the President of the UAE, Gen Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Heir Apparent of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, among other dignitaries. His Majesty the Sultan arrived in Al Ain City in the afternoon starting a three-day private visit to Shaikh Khalifa. Shaikh Khalifa led the welcoming party for His Majesty upon his arrival at Al Rawdha Palace.

His Majesty was also welcomed by Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed al Nahyan, Gen Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Shaikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, Shaikh Suroor bin Mohammed al Nahyan, Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, Shaikh Saif bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Shaikh Ahmed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Works, Shaikh Mansoor bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Affairs Minister, Shaikh Hamad bin Zayed al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Heir Apparent’s Court, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the ambassador of the UAE to the Sultanate.

His Majesty the Sultan arrived in the UAE by road. He was received at Khatam Al Shakla by Gen Mohammed bin Zayed, Shaikh Hazzaa’ bin Zayed al Nahyan, National Security Adviser and Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, Foreign Minister. His Majesty is accompanied during the visit by a delegation comprising Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court, Gen Ali bin Majid al Maamari, Minister of the Royal Office, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, Minister of National Economy and Supervisor of the Ministry of Finance, Mohammed bin al Zubair, Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for Economic Planning Affairs, Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Qatabi, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to the UAE.



The visit comes within the framework of the strong brotherly relations between the Sultanate and the UAE and reflects the keenness of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and Shaikh Khalifa to foster ties in the interest of the brotherly peoples of their countries.
